Note: This course meets at a different time and with a different
instructor than stated in the printed Schedule of Classes.  Time will be
on Tuesday only from 1:00-3:30 and the instructor is Graciela Depierris.

We will discuss the relationships and differences amont the
epistemological and metaphysical views of the great British empiricist
philosophers.  WE will be especially interested in contemporary
"experimental natural philosophy" as exemplified in such writers as Bacon,
Boyle, and Newton.

Students will be required to write three papers (around five pages each),
give one presentation to the class, and submit weekly questions on the
reading.
