In this first course of modern Greek, beginning students are
introduced to the fundamentals of the Greek language (alphabet,
pronunciation, grammar, sentence structure). Concurrently, through
the reading of the textbook and practicing with the workbook students
will be exposed to the actual application of abstract linguistic
elements to the living language. The pace of learning, especially of
vocabulary and grammar, will be accelerated as the semester proceeds.
