Course Format: Wet laboratory (10:10A-11:55A, MW, JH 243 OR 1:00P-
2:55P, MW, JH 243). Truly optional collecting trips outside regular
class hours.
Prerequisites: Biol. B351 concurrently or completed. Most take B351
concurrently.
Course Description: Isolate, purify, identify, and preserve fungi.
Apply routine chemical and other tests needed for identification of
fungi, collect molds.
Required Text: "The Audubon Society Field Guide to North American
Mushrooms".
Weekly Assignments: Four hours of scheduled laboratory time.
Exams/Papers: Two midterms and one final exam. Re-test option for
final exam (in fall semester, not in summer session).
