PREREQUISITE: W103, W203, L204, OR PERMISSION OF THE INSTRUCTOR.
This course will focus on the craft of fiction through reading a
variety of texts. Readings
will include the works of A.J. Verdelle, Sandra Cisneros, Reginald
McKnight, and J.D.
Salinger, among others. In addition to discussing and leading
discussions of the assigned
works, students will participate by writing papers and creative
writing exercises. The final
project will be an original short story. It is required that students
have already written
fiction and taken creative writing courses beyond W103.
