15th, 16th and 17th Century Art Production

For the fall semester, 201, A637 will be devoted to a topics which has
recently received a great deal of scholarly attention: art production.
This topic encompasses such issues as artistic training and workshop
practice, patrons and networks, collecting, the open market, development
of specialities, such as landscape, marketing strategies of artists,
north-south artistic exchange, trade, etc.  Since this topic has such
broad implications, student research papers will be drawn from the 15th,
16th and 17th centuries.
