COURSE PREREQUISITES:
Admission to the Master's Specialization in Athletic Training.
This course is designed to provide advanced experiences in athletic
injury management at the intercollegiate, clinical and secondary
levels. Students are assigned clinical affiliations based upon
previous experiences, professional interests, and academic needs.
These experiences are designed to reinforce and enhance competencies
established by the National Athletic Trainers Association's
Professional Education Committee.
A minimum requirement of 250 hours per semester is necessary to
fulfill the experience requirement for the course. The course is
graded on a pass/fail basis. Determinants for successful completion
include attendance at scheduled seminars, one major formal
presentation, demonstration of proficiency on oral/practical
examinations as well as demonstrated competency in sports injury
management skills.
