Topic: Race/Ethnic Relations in Everyday Life: Learning & Doing
Sociological Research
In this course, we will discuss how race/ethnicity affects
our everyday lives, and we will investigate a specific race/ethnic
issue in the Bloomington community. Students will get first-hand
experience designing a research project around this issue, collecting
data, and writing a report that analyzes the data. In addition,
students will keep a journal recording their experiences and insights
throughout the course. The class is authorized; students must submit
a one page paper briefly explaining why they want to be in the class
prior to authorization. Please contact the Sociology Undergraduate
Advisor, MaryLou Hosek, by e-mail (mhosek@indiana.edu) for more
details about the project and any other questions about the class.
