Topic:  Medical Sociology and Social Psychiatry II

This course is the second of two courses that focus on medical
sociology and the sociology of mental health.  The course covers
sociological research on the social consequences of illness and
disease, interactions with medical professionals, organizations, and
systems, and the activities and changing nature of the professionals,
organizations, and systems themselves.  Although the two courses in
this area are presented as a sequence, each course is intellectually
coherent and distinct from the other. Several faculty members will be
involved in leading class sessions.
