This course provides an indepth review of cognitive-communication
impairments, including perceptual, attention, memory, executive
function, language, and psychosocial problems, associated with right
hemisphere brain damage and various dementing illnesses. The most
current assessment and medical and behavioral management techniques
for both patients with right hemisphere brain damage or dementia will
also be reviewed. Course requirements include readings, class
participation, periodic homework assignments, an in-class
presentation and written assignment, and in-class examinations.
