Biology | Evolution and Diversity
L111 | 0557 | Tba

Course Format: Lecture: 1:25P-2:15P, MWF, JH A100, plus one
fifty-minute discussion/learning group per week.

Prerequisites: For biological and other science majors.

Course Description: Evolution will be defined in a "word equation":
Evolution = Genetic variation + selection + contingency. Roughly
equal time will be spent on each term of the above equation. The
evidence for evolution as a source of biological diversity on Earth
will be discussed. Alternatives, which can not be evaluated by the
methods of science, will NOT be considered. This means exactly what
it says.
