Prerequisites: One introductory biology course, preferably L111. This
course may be taken independently from Z375.
Course Description: Z374 introduces evolutionary relationships and
classification of animals together with aspects of structure and
function of selected invertebrates.
Required Text: "Biology of Invertebrates", fourth edition by Jan A.
Pechenik.
Weekly Assignments: Textbook reading as a supplement to lecture
material, typically 20-30 pages per week.
Exams/Papers: Two multiple choice exams plus a cumulative, multiple
choice final exam and five one-to-two page essays.
