Course format: a seminar class for graduate students interested in
animal behavior.  The class meets for 2 hours every other week. Course
meets with ABEH A502 at CISAB (402 N. Park).

Course Description.  Topic: Professional Ethics for the Bio-Behavioral
Sciences.

Reading about and discussing the following topics and others of
special interest to class members
o Student /mentor relationships.  Authorship and Credit
o Ethical Issues related to Research on Human Subjects
o Data access/data ownership - what constitutes data, who owns them,
what obligations do you have to maintain them and provide access?  In
short re the data you collected, whose  property is it?
o Scientific misconduct, evolving definitions
o Animal welfare/animal rights: research compliance to philosophy.

Required text: TBA

Weekly assignment: Students are expected to attend every session and
participate in and lead discussion.  Small written pieces will be due
each class period.

Exams/paper: none other than weekly assignments.
