Foundational issues in the cognitive and information sciences. What
could the relationship between mind and body be like? The
computational paradigm is studied in a philosophical context. Three
primary themes are: 1) philosophical issues: free will, personal
identity, materialism vs. dualism; 2) causal issues: functional and
computational architecture, implementation, digitality, neuroscience,
dynamics, etc.; and 3) semantic issues: meaning, representation,
content, and information. Throughout, there is an emphasis on writing,
analysis and exposition.
