Folklore | Multimedia in Ethnomusicology
F410 | 2413 | Sykes

Meets with F510. This course explores the use of multimedia
technology in five basic areas of ethnographic activity: filed
research, laboratory research (transcription and analysis),
preservation, presentation, and publication. Knowledge of
technological concepts and skill development in the use of various
technologies are pursued through a project-based approach, which
emphasizes learning by doing. Evaluation is based on demonstration
of competencies through successful completion of projects. The class
is structured to include both lecture and lab components.

Fulfills a COAS Arts and Humanities, Traditions and Ideas
distribution requirement.
