The fundamental question this course will ask is "How can one know if
members of a group are treated as the 'other?'" The instructor
believes that the preponderance of evidence supports the argument
that Latinos have beena nd continue to be different than European
immigrants to the U.S.  The course will lead students to reflect on
this question and the instructor's conclusion.
