Physics | Physical Science for Elementary Teachers
Q202 | 3629 | Olmer

Q202 is an introductory physics course that concentrates on aspects
of light, color, balance, sound, static electricity, current
electricity and magnetism. There are two 50-minutes lectures each
week as well as a three-hour lab which encourages hands-on activities
and learning. Q202 emphasizes topics and methods that can be taught
in elementary or middle school classrooms. Each lab features at least
one science-oriented make-and-take item which students construct and
can keep, such as kaleidoscopes, periscopes, optical illusions,
balancing toys, and electrical games. Students will work during the
semester at the local WonderLab Museum of Science, Health and
Technology, located on the courthouse square in downtown Bloomington.
Note that exams are scheduled at special times listed in the Schedule
of Classes.
