Developmental psychology is a diverse and rich field studying many
aspects of change across the life span. In this course, we will cover
the period from prenatal development to puberty focusing on the
neural, hormonal, and behavioral changes that occur. We will also
look at different theories of prenatal and postnatal human development
as well as adaptive reproductive and parenting systems in non-human
animals. Finally, we will conduct critical analyses of past and
present research in the field of developmental psychology in order to
learn more about the science of psychology and make us informed
consumers of research in general.
