This course is a survey and introduction to literature of the
African Diaspora.  The emphasis will be on fiction, although poetry,
essays, and folk forms will be introduced and examined as well.
Analysis of the assigned work will enhance students' appreciation
for the artistic design of the works and their interplay with
cultural and historical themes.
