Prerequisites: This section meets first eight weeks only. Open to
graduate students only.
Course Description: Topic: Biological Light and Electron Microscopy.
This course will cover the use and theory of microscopes in biological
research, particularly confocal, epifluorescence, and electron
microscopy. Deconvolution techniques for cleaning images will be
examined. There will also be demonstrations of immunocy to chemical
techniques for light and electron microscopy.
Required Text: Reading will be placed on reserve in library.
Weekly Assignments: Assigned readings.
Exams/Papers: Quizzes are given once a week.
