Classical Studies | Greek Prose: Pagans & Christians
G600 | 1034 | Long
Greek Prose: Pagans and Christians meets with G200-1030 MWF
10:10A-11:00A in BH 140.
This is the continuation of the elementary Greek program, and is the
next step for students who have just finished the second semester of
Greek. The course offers a highly organized review of Greek grammar
with exercises and vocabulary training. On Mondays and Wednesdays,
the principal text is Xenophon's ANABASIS, the story of how a large
army of Greek mercenary soldiers traveled to Iraq and found itself
stranded with apparently no way out. On Fridays we will read from THE
ACTS OF THE APOSTLES concentrating on linguistic features and making a
transition from Classical Greek to the Koine.
