(3cr)This course discusses the traditional health practices
(complementary or alternative) used as primary health care by 65-85%
of the world’s population. Discussion and activities will center on
enhancing awareness of such complementary and alternative practices
as acupressure, acupuncture, aromatherapy, biomagnetic applications,
chiropractics, herbology/botanicals, homeopathy, meditation, and
naturopathy. Focus will be placed on a greater understanding of these
practices, their history and regulation, effectiveness, safety, and
keys to finding qualified practitioners.
