DESCRIPTION:
R100 Coastal Kayaking will introduce students to this popular leisure
activity. Course content is based on the American Canoe Association?s
16-hour Fundamentals of Coastal Kayaking course. R100 Coastal
Kayaking is a highly experiential course where you must engage in camp
setting and maintenance, genuine reflection, and new skill
demonstration. You will be evaluated on these dimensions, as well as
your expedition behavior.

The Complete Book of Sea Kayaking, Fourth Edition, by Derek C.
Hutchinson
ASSIGNMENTS: Readings, short presentations, and a written exam
EVALUATION:
30% skill demonstration, 30% written examination, 20% three page
paper,20% expedition behavior
ADDITIONAL FEE:
The additional fee for the class is $200, which includes
transportation, food, and group gear. You will sign a bursar slip the
first day of class to pay this fee.
