3 credit hours. The course will discuss and debate some of the major
contemporary economic and political problems confronting organized
labor, workers, and society as a whole. Topics include:
globalization; plant closings; sweatshops; lean production; labor-
management cooperation programs; union democracy; issues of race and
gender; electoral politics and responses to the decline of organized
labor.
