3 cr., Monday, 5:45-8:25 pm, WY015. In recent years American
unionists have been engaged in a vibrant debate about how to halt the
labor movement’s decline. The course will join that discussion by
examining the internal behavior and structure of the labor movement,
including issues of union democracy and bureaucracy, labor’s
involvement in politics, and strike strategies. The class will
examine several unions in depth.
