*L290 and L390 classes have variable titles; more than one of these
topics classes may be taken for credit. Students may register for
either L290 or L390. Additional work assignments, such as residency,
homework, or exam questions, are required in L390 sections.

1 cr., BU421.  Class meets Tuesday and Thursday, 11:15-12:30 pm,
November 4, 6, 11, 13, 18, 20, 25,  December 2, 4, 9 and 11.  In the
class we will examine the impacts of immigration policy on immigrant
and native workers comparing industrial nations’ immigration
policies.  We will  emphasize “asking the right questions,” the ones
that are needed to understand the impact of immigration policy on
workers and on human rights, rather than on finding the “correct”
answers or approach.  Instructor:  Per Nordahl, Visiting Scholar from
