Y200 | 149A | Lambright

This section meets second eight weeks only.

This course serves as a general introduction to the field of
comparative political economy and to the comparison of rich and poor
nations in the global economy. We will examine political issues
relating to economic growth, inequality and poverty both in rich
countries like the United States and in the poorer countries of the
developing world. The focus will be on the growing globalization of
the world economy, and how this affects national politics and policy
making across different types of countries. Course evaluation will
be based on quizzes, midterm and final exams, a group project, and
class participation.
