P327 | 4049 | G. Sokoloff

This class will provide you with an in depth study of factors that
elicit and effect behavior in human and nonhuman animals. The course
will begin with a historical look at theories of motivation followed
by a discussion of the internal and external factors that influence
such motivated behaviors as drinking, eating, and reproduction. The
focus will be on the neural and evolutionary bases of motivation and
the contributions of development, learning, and other psychological
factors (i.e., cognition and social influences) to motivational
processes.
