Topic: Leadership, Ethics and Social Action –LESA

THIS IS A SERVICE LEARNING COURSE

S360 fulfills the social action seminar requirement for the minor in
Leadership, Ethics, and Social Action.  For authorization contact

856-1747.  Open to all students.  Students will examine the
architectural and social history of a local landmark building.  They
will learn why local history is important to this community group,
interview its members, and search for information about it in a
variety of sources, including newspapers, photographic archives,
census information, business directories, and insurance maps. The
material the students collect will be presented in a public
presentation to the community at the end of the semester.
The course will be divided into three sections:  data collection,
analysis, and presentation of results.  Students will create both
individual portfolios and the final presentation for the community
groups at the end of the semester.
