Sociology | Introduction to Social Psychology
S530 | 4343 | Jackson
This is a general survey course aimed at informing students of the
range of theoretical and methodological perspectives in use in
social psychology broadly, and in the social psychology done by
sociologists specifically. It reviews the history and contemporary
manifestations of these perspectives, and their application in a
variety of current substantive areas of inquiry. It is concerned
with suggesting theoretical and substantive issues motivating
contemporary social psychology, a critical sense of the issues at
stake in that domain, and a strong sense of the relevance of social
psychology for his/her interests in sociology itself or in related
fields.
