Course Format: Lecture: 9:05A-9:55A, MWF, JH A100.

Prerequisites:  Biol L211 or S211. In addition to lecture, students
must attend a one hour collaborative learning group each week (times
to be arranged). Evening exams will be held from 7-9P on Thursdays,
Sept. 16, Oct. 14 and Nov. 11.

Course description: Analysis of genetic and developmental processes
that lead to the construction of whole organisms, and to the
transmission to their offspring of specific genetic traits.  Includes
principles of genetics, mutagenesis, chromosomal abnormalities and
analysis of mutations affecting development.

Required Text: Hartwell, L. H. et al. “Genetics: From Genes to
Genomes”, second edition.

Weekly assignments: Read one-two chapters in text; complete two-three
page worksheet.

Exams/papers: Three one-hour exams, comprehensive final exam, and
weekly worksheet.
