C613	Catalan Linguistics

The course will have three parts: A description of contemporary
Catalan, including a survey of grammar; an overview of the history
of the language and its evolution; and topics in sociolinguistics,
including the study of attitudes towards the language as a whole.
Students will prepare a presentation and term paper on one of the
three segments. There will be an exam after each of those segments.
