seminar stressing the creation of journalistic stories for diverse
audiences. Students will learn to develop story ideas, gather
information, combine visual and verbal messages, and to write and
edit news.

JOUR J155: Research Techniques for Journalists (1 cr)
C: JOUR J200.  A nine-week, one-credit, online class that emphasizes
basic research techniques used by media writers to gather
information for newspaper articles, magazine pieces, news releases,
and other forms of journalistic-style writing. Skills covered
include researching Internet and non-Internet sources. It is taught
concurrently with J200, Writing, Reporting and Editing I.
