This course is designed to introduce the student to the personal,
social, and environmental factors contributing to violence in
America. The public health approach to violence will be applied to
this course, not sociological, therapeutic, or criminal justice
approaches.  Personal, family, and community based violence
prevention and reduction techniques are presented.
