Description of Course Content:  Learning and applying the recreation
program process for leisure delivery systems.  Introduction to
program activity plans, budgeting, and public relations.

Required Book List:  Recreation Programming:  Designing Leisure
Experiences (Fourth edition) by J. Robert Rossman and Barbara Elwood
Schlatter, Sagamore Publishing, 2003

Summary of Assignments:  Group projects, program
observation/critique, program planning, implementaion and
presentation.  Student groups must conduct a program for the
community while collaborating with a local leisure services agency.
The purpose of this program is to give students the opportunity to
gain experience in program development/planning, but to also connect
course material to the program development process.
