This course will survey issues in the philosophy of science such as
the distinctionbetween theory and observation, objectivity, realism,
scientific laws, modeling, causality, explanation, testing,
experimentation, growth of scientific knowledge, reductionism,
feminism, as well as issued in the philosophy of specific sciences.
Readings will include essays by authors such as Hanson, Hempel,
Nagel, Kuhn, Quine, Feyerabend, van Fraassen, and others.
