Combining concepts and theories from anthropology and folklore with the
technology and techniques of visual anthropology, students will explore and
analyze aspects of student culture at Indiana University. Upon completion of
the course, students will have the conceptual and methodological tools for
conducting ethnographic research through both direct observation and visual
technologies, allowing them to interpret the unique experience college
students have during their time at a university and the underlying social
processes and functions that shape studentsí lives.
