This section is a web based course offered through OnCourse. There
are no required classroom meetings - all interaction between
instructor and students will take place through OnCourse.
Section 7953; 3 credit hours. Organized around discussion forums,
this course provides an overview of racial/ethnic, class, and gender
systems of domination, with an emphasis on the workings of such
systems in the US. We begin with historical overviews of
ethnic/racial groups and move from there to political economic
structures and outcomes: the distributions of resources, occupations,
income, and political power. Throughout the course we intersperse
short sociological readings with readings on the political economy of
work in American society. Instructor: Professor Lynn Duggan, DLS,
IUB.
