This is an introduction to abnormal psychology.  The course will
review the clinical characteristics and therapy for a variety of
behavioral or mental disorders.  These will include anxiety
disorders, dissociative disorders, developmental disorders, mood
disorders (unipolar depression and bipolar disorder), schizophrenia,
eating disorders, disorders of sexual function and behavior, and
substance abuse.  Research methods, models and mechanisms of mental
illness, genetics, and epidemiology will be covered as well.  Classes
will be in lecture format.  Grades will be based on quizzes, tests,
writing assignments, homework, and in-class exercises.
