Name of the Course:  WTIU Children’s Programming

Course Description
WTIU Children’s Programming is designed to prepare and equip
students to produce programming for a children’s television
broadcast.  Through practical application, students will learn
business organizational skills, as well as technical requirements of
production.

Requirements include: Produce fully packaged segments, assist with
studio production needs.  Closely supervised by WTIU children’s
producer.  Work with other student production team members to
research relevant topics for audience, create thematic segment
descriptions and rundowns for show, write script copy, locate kids
to tape for segments, coordinate dates and times for shoots, operate
sound and/or shoot video at various remote locations within the
community.  Responsibilities also include overseeing editing of
segments, deliver final product to producer and office duties as
assigned.

Prerequisites:  Successful completion of T351 with a grade of B or
better.  Hours: Fridays 1:00 – 5:30 and MUST be one additional
workday for a 3-hour block of time TBA.  Must have faculty
recommendation.

Your final grade will be based upon your completion of requirements
and level of participation during field, studio and office
assignments, as well as attendance.
