Anthropology | Feminist Theory in Anthropology
E600 | 27466 | Thomas
This class will address and explore feminism and its theoretical
impacts on cultural anthropology beginning in the early 20th Century.
What have changed and not changed, would be one of many pivotal
points to concentrate on. Historical visits will be made to examine
the creation of anthropology and feminist influences by Mead, Benedict
and others. Contemporary feminist theorists’ work will be closely
examined and multi-culturalism (class, nationality, ethnicity, etc.),
“men who do feminism” and similar topics will be part of the class.
