This course introduces students to the archaeology of gender. Topics
include: (1) how gender biases have affected archaeological research
and interpretations as well as the participation of women in the
profession; (2)  the relationship of gender to changes in
sociopolitical organization (considering several case studies); and
(3) gender identities and their expression in the archaeological record.
