Collins Living Learning Center | Basic Digital Media and the Self
L100 | 28915 | Songyi Kim

In this class, students will visualize notions related to the self and enter a
process of self-discovery evoked from their sensibilities, emotions, and
aspects of everyday life. Students will produce hybrid self-images based in
the format of self-portrait, and moving images based in the format of
performance. In the course of these visual self-representations, students will
have a chance to communicate with the "self" and "others”. This course is
taught by the internationally acclaimed Korean performance and digital media
artist, Songyi Kim, who is residing at the Collins-Living Learning Center as a
visiting artist/scholar for Fall 2005, in collaboration with IU’s Fine Arts
Department.
