This is a web based course offered through OnCourse:
Class Number 28007; 3 cr. This class meets October 24 – December 10,
2005. The course will discuss and debate some of the major
contemporary economic and political problems confronting organized
labor, workers, and society as a whole. Topics include:
globalization; plant closings; sweatshops; lean production; labor-
management cooperation programs; union democracy; issues of race and
gender; electoral politics; and responses to the decline of organized
