This course examines both research studies and the service
application of knowledge in the field of family violence, abuse, and
neglect. Recent findings from empirical studies are reviewed and then
compared to the beliefs and practices of treatment and legal services
designed to intervene in situations of family violence.  Taught from
a social work perspective, much of the discussion focuses on child
sexual abuse.
