The 60s and 70s saw a change in music and a change in our national culture.
Changing social attitudes are reflected in the body art of this era that became
known as the Tattoo Renaissance. This course will look at the historic and
current trends of tattooing in North America with a focus on the time period
surrounding the Tattoo Renaissance to give a clearer understanding of how
we create personal and group identities and the impact this ancient body art,
and how it is classified, has on modern society.
