Prerequisites: Grade of C or higher in J302 or equivalent
proficiency; this course is not suitable for native speakers.

This is an advanced reading and writing course that focuses on
translation, discussion, presentation and essay writing. Reading
materials will generally consist of short stories and novellas, but
also include some newspaper and magazine articles.
Grading will be based on class attendance, performance, and
participation; writing assignments; translation assignments;
homework; quizzes and tests; oral presentations; and a final exam.
