Topic: Adventure in Italian Literature & Culture.  The focus of this
course is the literature of Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque Italy.
The course is designed to achieve a reading competency of
representative works from the first centuries of Italian literature
through careful readings of selected passages. Dante, Petrarca,
Boccaccio, Machiavelli, Ariosto, Tasso and Galileo will be among the
authors considered. Students will write short essays during the
term, participate in an oral presentation, and take a final exam.
The class will be conducted in Italian. A reader will be available.
Prerequisite is M301 or consent of instructor. Fulfills A & H, CSA
requirements.
