MUEHLBERGER
MW 9:30-10:45 (class #25459)

Joint listed with NELC-N 473

This course is the third of the four semesters in the Biblical
Hebrew sequence. We will focus on reading the biblical text,
beginning with relatively easy passages and moving to more and more
difficult ones. For homework, students will prepare short sections
of text using a dictionary; during each class period, we will
translate these passages together, often stopping to review
grammatical points that have gone rusty over the summer. Preparation
and attendance are important parts of a student's performance in
this class. Other evaluations of student progress include: five in-
class written tests, one oral test (to be arranged with the
instructor at the student's convenience) and a final exam.
Completing two years of Biblical Hebrew will fulfill the foreign
language requirement. In order to sign up for this class, a student
must pass Biblical Hebrew II (JSTU-B 150 or NELC-N 472)or have
permission from the instructor.
