About half of this course is devoted to basic logic, formal and
informal, which is an indispensable tool for critical thinking. Then
we discuss some issues related to logic and rationality in science,
ethics and religion. This course has no pre-requisite. It is reading-
intensive. Each week you are expected to read 20-40 pages. Students
are required to turn in two or three short papers.
