	First 10 weeks only.
	This course is aimed at surveying and analyzing several
controversial issues in American politics, including the nature of
American democracy, the type of strategies that racial and ethnic
minorities should pursue in their efforts to become an integral part
of mainstream America, the meaning and equality of American society;
the extent to which racial discrimination undermines life chances in
American society and, the proper role of IRS tax policy in
facilitating civic engagement in American politics. Course
requirements include assigned required reading for every class, two
(mid-term and final) examinations; a group project, and evaluation
of class participation.
